In Loving Memory of John F. McLean

October 2, 1946 – June 26, 2023

 

John Fraser McLean, husband of Susan (Keoughan) McLean of Miramichi, passed away at home on June 26, 2023 at the age of 76.

Born in Lower Derby, NB, on October 2, 1946, he was the son of the late John and Blanche (Clouston) McLean.  He was a member of St. Michael’s Basilica.  He worked at Brunswick Mines as a Mining Technician until retirement.  His true love and passion, was for the great outdoors and also for the beautiful Miramichi. 

John is survived by his wife, Susan (Keoughan) McLean; one daughter, Paula Keoughan (Steve Murphy) of Miramichi; one son, John Patrick “JP” McLean (Stephanie) of Kamloops, BC; two grandchildren: Emily and Hudson; three sisters: Agnes Jardine of Miramichi, Lillian McKinley of Ontario and June McLean-Collins of Ontario; as well as one brother, Walter McLean of Halifax, NS.  He was predeceased by his parents; and his two brothers: Charlie and Ted.

Visitation occurred at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023, from 1-4 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial occurred at St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, on Monday, July 3rd, 2023, at 11 AM with The Reverend Father Antonio Reyes as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bonnell and St. Michael's Choir and the hymns were: "Here I Am Lord", "The Lord Is My Shepherd", "Be Not Afraid", "Parable", "On Eagles Wings" and the recessional hymn was "How Great Thou Art".  The scripture readings were read by Amy Wheaton and Karen Ali and the Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by Les McKinley.  The eulogy was presented by Aaron McLean.  Interment followed in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

The McLean family would like to thank Dr. Losier and the Extra Mural Staff for all the care they gave John.
