It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John “Jack” Frederick Legere, husband of the late Marilyn Legere of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital December 22, 2024, at the age of 86.

Born in Moncton, NB, on February 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Dos and Phoebe (Bourgeois) Legere.   Jack joined the Airforce at the age of 17 trained to work as an airplane mechanic that brought him great joy. It was during this time he met the love of his life Marilyn. They married and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary before Marilyn’s passing. He retired from the Airforce after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. After retirement Jack worked at Radio Shack downtown Chatham, the Insurance industry, Manager at the Miramichi Golf and Country Club, Security at the Moncton Airport along with many years in entertainment.

Jack truly lived his life with no regrets. He loved music in every sense of the word. He loved to practice playing his guitar and sing. Jack was a master Karaoke entertainer playing at Senior homes around the Miramichi area. Jack also loved golfing, especially with his wife Marilyn.  Jack’s friends at Retirement Miramichi enjoyed and loved him deeply. Whether it was playing darts, crib, poker or entertaining with his jokes and musical talents there were always laughs. Jack truly lit up a room with his mere presence. He was a very kind and humble gentleman.

Jack deeply loved and was so very proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He would receive updates on the activities Laura and Mark’s children were involved in and with great excitement, share their accomplishments through pictures and videos.

Jack developed a beautiful relationship with Karen Clark over the past number of years and they enjoyed a wonderful Dad/daughter bond. Karen gained a beautiful sister Debbie in the process.

John, “Jack” Legere is survived by his one daughter, Deborah Gray (Danny) of Miramichi; two grandchildren: Laura Keough (Daniel) and Mark Kenny (Clarissa); four great-grandchildren: Ella and Austin Keough, Maddix and Cai Kenny; two sisters: Judy Bavis (Kirk) of Moncton, Chosen daughter Karen and special friends Yvonne and Kim and many others, to many to name.  Moncton, NB and Shirley Clements of Amherst, NS; One brother, Don Legere, (late Maria, late Toni) of Mass, USA; sister-in-law Anita Geldart (late George), of Ontario; as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, wife, Marilyn, son, Barrie, brothers: Lloyd (Mary), Earl (Marg), Douglas, and Bill (Pauline).

At John, “Jack’s” request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
