In Loving Memory of John “Jack” MacDonald

1933 – 2025

 

John “Jack” Simon MacDonald of Miramichi, New Brunswick, and formerly of Napan and Burnt Church, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on October 20, 2025, at the age of 92.

 

Born in Point Aux Carr, New Brunswick, on April 26, 1933, he was the son of the late Harold and Georgina (Loggie) MacDonald.  Jack worked at Crouse Hinds Ltd., in Scarborough, Ontario, for many years.

 

Jack is survived by his sister, Shirley Merritt (late David) of Miramichi, New Brunswick; nieces, Debbie (Bob), Dawn (Tom), and Wanda (Mike); brother-in-law, Joseph Beek; and nephew, Harold Beek.  Jack is also survived by special cousins, Joyce McKnight (late Joseph), Marilyn McKnight (Jody), Michael McKnight and Carol MacDonald; as well as numerous cousins.  He was predeceased by his parents; infant brother, Beverly; and sister, Eleanor Beek.

 

At Jack’s request, there was no visitation.  A funeral service was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating.  Music for the service was provided by Stan MacDonald and the hymns were "Amazing Grace" and "We Have An Anchor".  Interment was in Black River Community Cemetery.

 

As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
