It is with great sadness we regret to announce the unexpected passing of John Stephen Butler, husband of Vicki Tozer Butler of Miramichi, NB, who passed away at his home on Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at the age of 57.
Born in the former town of Chatham, NB, on January 30th, 1966, John was the son of Margaret “Margie” (Neathway) Butler and the late M. David “Dave” Butler. John was a volunteer with St. John Ambulance for over 15 years and worked full-time as a paramedic until 2000 when he made a change to the customer service industry. John was everyone’s go to guy when it came to computers and technical support. He would grab his reading glasses and figure out a solution. He also had an interest in aviation search and rescue and was a member of CASARA (Civil Air Search and Rescue Association). He was a proud Father and Grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his four-legged friend Dax.
Besides his wife, Vicki and mother, Margaret “Margie”, John is survived by his daughter, Megan Butler (Huy Nguyen) of Fredericton, NB; and sister, Sue Butler (Kevin Lloyd) of Miramichi. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Luna, and his grandson, Kai; as well as father-in-law, Gerald Tozer (Rhonda) of Fredericton; brother-in-law, Evan Tozer (Bobbie Jo) of Stanley, NB; and sister-in-law, Becky Tozer Fergusson (Brian) of Summerside, PE; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was predeceased by his father, M. David “Dave” Butler, infant brother, David; and his granddaughter, Jazlyn. He is also predeceased by both paternal and maternal grandparents; and mother-in-law, Darlene Bunnell.
