John Thomas Quinn Obituary
In Loving Memory of John Thomas Quinn
1957-2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of John Thomas Quinn of Redmondville, New Brunswick, on September 10, 2025, at the age of 68. John was born on July 28, 1957, to the late Mary Jane (née Thompson) and Thomas Quinn. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
John is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (née O’Keefe), and five cherished daughters: Theresa Savoie (Anselme) of Redmondville, Natalie Richardson (Brian) of Moncton, Amanda Quinn (Scott) of Redmondville, Joanne Quinn of Fredericton, and Michelle Quinn (Jody) of Robertville.
John’s daughters always knew they could call him for anything, at any time, and they often did. Whether it was for advice, comfort, or to talk about upcoming sports or school events his grandchildren were taking part in, he was there. He spoke his mind, stood by what he believed, and didn’t waste time pretending to be anything he wasn’t.
He was a proud grandfather to Nadia, Carly, Sophie, Jacob, Joshua, Ryan, Abigail, Jordan and Douglas. John loved and cherished his grandchildren above all else, and they will forever treasure the memories of their beloved “Grampie.”
John is also survived by his brother, Gaston Rodrigue (Colette) of Quebec; his sisters, Donna Curtis of Miramichi, Theresa Hackett of Quispamsis, and Ellen Kingham of New Zealand; his brother-in-law, Stanley O’Keefe of Napan, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his cousin, Rose Ramsay, and her son Mike Ramsay, with whom he shared a special bond with, and a nephew, Matthew O’Keefe, who was like a son to him.
John had a heart for his community and a deep compassion for others. He never liked to see anyone go without, especially in his own town. Whether it was lending a helping hand, offering a kind word, or quietly supporting those in need, John was always there. His generosity and selflessness touched many lives and will be remembered with gratitude and love.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Thérèse (née St. Coeur) O’Keefe; his niece, Amber Neally; and several aunts and uncles.
In accordance with John’s wishes, there was no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Saint Margaret’s Catholic Church, Saint Margaret’s, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with The Reverend Father John Fraser as Officiant. Music for the service was provided by Jacqueline Allain. The songs included "Here I am Lord", "Amazing Grace", "Make Me a Channel of Your Peace", "In the Garden", and "Songs of the Angels". The first and second scripture readings were read by Natalie Richardson. Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by Carly Akoto. The eulogy was presented by Amanda Quinn. The Honorary Pallbearers were Anselme Savoie, Brian Richardson, Jody Dalley, Scott Donnelly, Jimmy Thompson, Keith Sanford, Mike Ramsay, and Matthew O'Keefe. Interment followed in Saint Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery. A reception for all was held in the church hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saint Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, telephone (506) 773-3492. Additionally, messages of condolence may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca
