Joseph "Earl" Daley Obituary

In Loving Memory of Joseph “Earl” Daley
1939 – 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph “Earl” Daley, husband of the late Sylvia (Humphries) Daley of Miramichi, New Brunswick, announce his passing at Shannex-Losier Hall on October 7, 2023, at the age of 84.

Born in Chatham, NB, on August 31, 1939, Joseph Earl Daley was the son of the late Harry and Florence (Ross) Daley.  He moved to Ontario at a young age to work and there he met his wife Sylvia who passed away in December of 2010.  His life was never the same without her.  Joseph was an Entrepreneur and owned his own painting business and worked on both residential and commercial projects for many years.  He attended St. Michael’s Basilica when he was able.

Earl is survived by his children: Kathy Deacon of Burlington, ON, Kim Bigelow (Brian) of Niagara Falls, ON, Steve Daley (Julie) of Simcoe, ON, and Yvonne Girouard (Kevin) of Miramichi, NB.  He is also survived by his grandchildren: Keri Deacon (Brad), Kristin Deacon, Kelly Deacon (Tom), Kelsey Deacon (Glyn), Lee Bigelow (Jessica), Zachary Bigelow, Alicia Tiller (Matt), Elyse Girouard (Kevin), and Reese Girouard (Lauren); great-grandchildren: Robbie, Adam, Riley, Connor, Liam, and Emma.  He will be missed by his brothers:  Albert Daley (late Eva) of Fredericton, NB, Raymond Daley (late Pat) of ON, Harry Daley (Pat) of Miramichi, and Harold Daley (Helen) of Miramichi; as well as many nieces, and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia; his sister, Florence Girouard; and brothers, Pat Daley and Hughie Daley.

A private visitation occurred at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi.  A public graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, at 1 PM, with The Reverend Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrant.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gerard Losier, Dr. Arthur Losier and Cheris Lynch for the care they gave our Dad at Losier Hall.  We would especially like to express sincerest gratitude to the staff at Losier Hall where Dad lived on both Barry and Doyle Courts.  Your kindness was much appreciated.

Earl faced the many challenges he had in life head-on and with a strong will.  Even though he had many health problems, he never complained and always kept on going for his family.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB; telephone (506) 773-3492.  Additionally, messages of condolence may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca
