Joseph (Jule) LeBelle

     1946 – 2022

Joseph Jules LeBelle (Jule) of Courtenay BC passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Hospital on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the age of 76. Born in Chatham, NB on May 8, 1946 and raised in Loggieville NB, he was the son of the late Peter LeBelle and Angeline Gautreau.

Jule was a retired Air Traffic Controller with the Military Air Force.  He loved life and was very active.  He enjoyed playing hockey, pickleball, and softball into his 70’s. He spent many winters in Yuma, Arizona but called Courtenay, BC home for over 20 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Denise (Steve) of Innisfail, and Lesley (Tim) of Miramichi; brother, Fred (late Elma); sisters, Elizabeth Richard (late Leonard) and Olive; sister-in-law, Myrna; grandchildren: Julie, Sydney, and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Eva (Leo); and brothers: Pascal (Anna), Frank, Michael, Henry, and James.

As per Jule’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A small graveside service will take place in the summer.

Jule’s daughters would like to thank Paula Kelly (Jimmy) and Dr. Losier for caring for Dad in his final weeks and days.
