Joyce Janet Taylor
1925 - 2020
Joyce Janet Taylor, wife of the late Allen Taylor peacefully passed away at her residence-the same homestead in which her and her husband raised their family, on August 13, 2020 at the age of 95.
Born in Napan Bay, NB on February 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lillian (Creighton) MacDonald.
She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Friend. She was a true Homemaker and a beautiful Seamstress who made many wedding gowns. She was also an avid reader and loved a competitive weekly game of Scrabble. She was a member of the Napan Carmel United Church, and the UCW.
Joyce is lovingly remembered by her children: Peggy Kierstead (Richard) of Moncton, Connie MacDougall (Brian) of Miramichi, Bliss Taylor (Napan Bay) and Eric Taylor (Brenda) of Napan.
Her many grandchildren were so very loved by her and she would have wanted them called by their names: Christopher, Diana, Angela, Lisa, Ryan, baby grandson Jamie, Lindsay; great-grandchildren: Makayla, Megan, Mya, Matthew, Kevin, Liam, Justin, Christina, Kayla, James, Lily, Emmett and great-great grandchild baby Wyatt.
She is predeceased by her parents; husband Allen (1991); brothers: Earle, Allie, and George; sister Bessie and baby grandson Jamie. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, a PRIVATE visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, immediately followed by a PRIVATE funeral service conducted by The Rev. Charlene Maguire-MacKnight at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Music for the service was provided by Robyn McCallum playing “Amazing Grace” and recorded music “Remember When”, “Holes in the Floor of Heaven” and “I Love” was played. The lighting of the memory candles was by Kayla Taylor and Christina Hogan and the scriptures were read by Kayla Taylor and Megan Moran. The eulogy was presented by Brenda Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters and great granddaughters: Diana, Angela, Lisa, Lindsay, Lily, Christina, Kayla, Makayla, Megan and Mya and grandson Ryan. Pallbearers were grandsons Christopher, Liam, Kevin and Matthew, friends Denis and Justin. Interment was held in the Black River Community Cemetery, Black River Bridge, NB.
The family would like to thank the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program and Hospice Miramichi for their exceptional care and compassion towards their mother.
