As per Joyce’s request there was no visitation. A Celebration of Life was held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 188 Wellington St., Miramichi, on Tuesday Sept. 5 at 11 AM, with The Reverend Eunkyu Ji officiating. A luncheon followed at the church. Music for the service was provided by Lois McKinnon and St. Andrew's United Church Choir and the hymns were "In The Bulb There Is A Flower", "An angel To Watch Over Me", "Amazing Grace" and the recessional hymn was "Go Now In Peace". The lighting of the Memory Candle was done by son, Donnie Forbes. Two poems "The Magnificence of A Mother" was read by niece, Nancy Cornford and "Miss Me-But Let Me Go" was read by granddaughter, Erica MacLean. The eulogy and family memories were given by son, Steven Forbes and scripture reading was read by grandson, Michael MacDonald. A large group made up of U.C.W, Rebecca Lodge and Community Kitchen sat together and formed an honour guard after the service. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to NB Heart & Stroke, Riverside Cemetery, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
