Judy Dorothy Scott of Water Street, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020 with her family by her side at Losier Hall, Miramichi N.B at the age of 71. Judy had an outstanding life filled with generosity, kindness and love.
Judy dedicated her life to helping those around her most in need as evidenced by her remarkable strength and compassion towards others. She worked as a volunteer ambulance attendant, providing a hint of what was to come as her career. Her passion for her chosen career as a Registered Nurse was obvious until the day she retired. Once retired, she volunteered thousands of hours to those most vulnerable as “The Dessert Lady” at the community kitchen and as a very active St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Team member with her beloved dog Dreyfus.
Judy will be missed by her loving husband Tom Scott and her children Tony (Roxanne) of Pembroke, Ontario; Andréa (Roger Girouard) of Dartmouth, N.S. and Cara (Shane Goguen) of Miramichi, N.B. Judy was blessed to be surrounded with the love of her grandchildren Alex Girouard (Andréa and Roger), Gregor Wilson (Cara), and Haley Speight (Connie) as well as her surviving siblings (John Grondin) of Fredericton, Ruth (McCleod) also of Fredericton, Sharon (Gerry) McCormick of Oakville Ontario as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents Anthony and Dorothy Grondin, her daughter Connie Scott, and grandson Mitchell Speight, as well as her brothers Michael Grondin and Terry Grondin.
Judy will most certainly be remembered as an avid outdoors person enjoying duck and goose hunting, salmon fishing on the beautiful Miramichi River and camping. She will be equally remembered for those quiet moments filled with conversation while knitting, crocheting, cooking as well as her many sleepovers with her adored grandchildren. Her family was a tight knit one because she made it a priority to be connected with her children at every opportunity. Judy’s smile could light up any room and did she ever smile when she got the chance to dance and enjoy a good tune! She remained active through walking and swimming her entire life.
The family would like to thank Dr. Arthur Losier and all of the staff at Losier Hall and Mount St. Joseph for making this journey as comfortable as possible.
