1962 – 2024
Julia Mercure (Mazerolle), wife of Charles Mercure of Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on August 20, 2024, at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Miramichi, NB, on October 17, 1962, Julia Mercure (Mazerolle) was the daughter of the late Prudent and Adelle (Martin) Mazerolle. Julia faithfully worked at Raymond O’Neil and Sons Fisheries Ltd. for over 30 years. She attended Sainte-Anne’s Catholic Church. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Julia is survived by her husband, Charles of 43 years; two daughters: Rachel Mutch (Titus) of Charlo, NB, Nicole Mercure (Bailey) of Bathurst, NB; and one son, Ricky Mercure (Nelva) of Trois-Rivières, QC; two sisters: Denise Mazerolle (Roger), and Therese Mazerolle, both of Baie-Sainte-Anne; two brothers: Ronald Mazerolle (Francine) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, and Adrien Mazerolle (Christine), of Saint-Norbert, NB; her four grandchildren: Raylene, Ava, Nathalie, Aaron; two special aunts: Edna Robichaud, and Joane Daigle; three Godchildren: Marsha Mazerolle, Darryl Mazerolle, and Christine Mercure; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Julia is also survived by her mother-in-law, Laudia Mercure, as well as her best-friend, Brigitte Manuel.
Besides her parents, Julia is predeceased by her sister, Rose-Mai Mazerolle; brother, Jean Mazerolle; father-in-law, Alfred Mercure; sisters-in-law: Veronique Martin, Paulette Mercure (child), and Ghislaine Mercure (infant); as well as brothers-in-law: Brian McIntyre, Eloi Mercure, Hilaire Mercure, and Leon Kingston
Visitation was held at the Sister Blandine Martin Slumber Room, Sainte-Anne Catholic Church, 5353 Route 117, Baie-Sainte-Anne, NB, on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 7-9 PM, and Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 9-10:45 AM. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at the Sainte-Anne Catholic Church at 11 AM, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, with The Reverend Father Jean Belisle as Celebrant. Music for the service was provided by the Sainte-Anne Catholic Church Choir. The Eulogy was presented by Rachel Mutch, and the Scripture Readers were Sheila Arseneault, and Melissa Martin. Intercessory Prayers were proclaimed by Melissa Martin. Interment will occur in the Sainte-Anne Catholic Cemetery, Baie-Sainte-Anne, at a later date.
