In Loving Memory of June M. Weeks

1925 – 2024

Weeks, June Marion (nee Esson) – June passed peacefully at Losier Hall in Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the age of 98.

Born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Florence (Laurie) Esson.

June and husband Bill (William R. Weeks, DFC) resided in Saint-Lambert, Quebec for 46 years. She worked with Quebec Health and Social Services (Ateliers Horizon) for 20 years until retiring in 1991. In 1998, June and Bill returned to New Brunswick to reside at Retirement Miramichi.

She will be missed by her loving son Sandy, daughter-in-law Cindy, and grandsons Jack and James. She also leaves niece Barbara (Clarence) and nephews Ted (Nancy) and Peter (Lynn).

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved sister Millicent and special bothers-in-law Hugh Flemming and Frank Weeks.

Thanks to the staff at Losier Hall, her caregiver Sarah and kind neighbour's Marg and Merle.

June had an inquisitive mind and a great sense of humour. She enjoyed computers, literature, poetry and classical music. She was a formidable Scrabble (and Words With Friends) foe.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Interment will occur at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Loggieville, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in support of veterans or a local hospice of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
