Karl R. Williston
1931 – 2020
Karl Robert Williston, husband of Lillian (Cook) Williston of Miramichi, passed away at his residence on Thursday morning, March 26, 2020 at the age of 88.
Born in Bay du Vin, NB, he was the son of the late Alex and Helen (Smith) Williston. He was a carpenter by trade and was a part of the Douglastown Friendship Club. He was a true family man who loved each one dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Cook) Williston; one daughter, Kristine Williston Hovey (Michael) of Miramichi; four sons: Daryl Williston (Kim) of Leduc, AB, Richard Williston (Susan) of Campbellton, NB, Terry Williston (Ronda) of Miramichi and Derek Williston (Cheryl) of Blackville, NB; eleven grandchildren: Brett, Bradley, Kyle, Scott, Kira, Kayla, Katelyn, Brittany, Jarett, Ryan and Rachael; four great grandchildren: Archer, Oliver, Lorenzo and Jesse; three sisters: Beryl Sobey of Ontario, Betty McEwen of Pugwash, NS and Susan Roy (Ray) of Saint John, NB; four brothers: Carman Williston (Nellie) of Miramichi, Neil Williston of Ontario, Billy Williston (Teri) of Miramichi and Gary Williston (Margaret) of Dieppe, NB. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Eleanor and Rosemary, one brother, Donald.
In regards to the COVID – 19 Virus, Karl’s family had a private Mass of Christian burial from Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 28, 2020 with Father John Keoughan as Celebrant. Scripture readings were read by Cheryl Williston and Michael Hovey and the Intercessory Prayers were led by Michael Hovey. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Michael’s Repair and Renovation Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
