Karsten P. Keoughan
1943 – 2022
Karsten Patrick Keoughan of Napan, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on August 14, 2022, at the age of 79.
Born in Chatham, NB, on June 14, 1943, he was the son of both the late Patrick and Hilda (Olsen) Keoughan. He worked for the DOT as a District Executive Officer for many years, and attended St. Michael’s Basilica. He always loved to coach minor hockey and minor baseball and was very much involved with fostering many children who needed help.
Karsten is survived by one daughter, Karla Keoughan of Miramichi; three sons: Bernard Keoughan of Napan, Jason Keoughan of Napan, and Chris Sickles (Stacey) of Miramichi; four grandchildren: Connor and Riley Keoughan, Amber, and Krysta Sickles; three brothers: The Reverend Father John Keoughan of Miramichi, Terry Keoughan (Ruby) of Napan, and Kevin Keoughan of Miramichi. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Wilma (Preston) Keoughan; as well as three brothers: Lawrence, D. Edward, and Donnie Keoughan.
A public visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 6-9 PM. A public Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Basilica on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11 AM, with The Revered Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrant. Music for the service was provided by Jackie Allain. The processional hymn was "Like A Shepherd". Other hymns included: "Here Am I, O Lord", "Shelter Me, O God", "Amazing Grace", and "Be Not Afraid". The recessional hymn was "Go Now In Peace". The First Scripture Reading was read by Riley Keoughan. The Second Scripture Reading was read by Amber Sickles. Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by Riley Keoughan.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
