Kathleen D. Murray

     1945 – 2021

Kathleen Doris Murray of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on December 6, 2021, at the age of 76.

Born in Bathurst, NB, on June 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Doris (Boudreau) Kelly.

Mom was heavily involved in her community and church.  She was a Teacher at James M. Hill for many years and later a Principal at Tabusintac school.  Among many things, she was a girl guide leader, a marathon runner, a world traveler, a choir member, an avid reader and a lover of the arts.

She had a strong faith, she was brave, loving and a caring mother, sibling, wife, aunt, grandmother and friend. She set a great example for anyone that knew her and made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Kathleen is survived by her three daughters: Andrea Casey (Carl) of Miramichi, Pamela Duplessie (Chris) of Miramichi and Jennifer Brown of Halifax, NS; two sons: Christopher Brown (Laura) of Halifax, NS and Timothy Brown (Annette) of Fredericton; one step-daughter, Shelley Mills of Fredericton; one step-son, Jody Murray of Fredericton; fifteen grandchildren: Jasper, Sawyer, Finley, Daryn, Ethan, Drew, Sydney, Aidan, Olivia, Cecilia, Rian, Adrianna, Christian, Ryan and Carley; three sisters: Noreen Cebulski (late Larry), Norma Jackson (late Bud) and Sharron Woodard (Terry); three brothers: Martin Kelly (late Treva), John Kelly and Stephen Kelly (Susan); and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Walter Brown; second husband, Willard Murray; two sisters: Maurita McCrystal and Jory Parent; and two brothers, Thomas and Ronald Kelly.

A visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Wednesday, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.  A funeral service was held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 207 Wellington St., Miramichi, on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 11 AM with The Reverend Perry Cooper officiating, assisted by The Reverend Sandy MacPherson and The Reverend Deacon Eddie Quann.  The music for the service was provided by Charlotte Loggie and the St. Mary's Church Choir.  The hymns were: "Here I Am, Lord", "Because He Lives", "There's A Place" and "When Peace Like a River".  The scripture readings were read by Wendy Baldwin, The Reverend Deacon Eddie Quann and Annette Foster.

The Honorary Pallbearers were: Stephen Kelly, Tony Knockwood, Terry Nason and Laurie Baldwin.  The active Pallbearers were: Aidan Casey, Ethan Duplessie, Drew Duplessie, Toby Knockwood, Derrick Kelly and Jamie Petrie.  Interment will be held in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery later in the spring.

IMPORTANT:

Please be advised of Government of New Brunswick requirements for mandatory continous facemask wearing in all indoor public spaces, and the requirement to provide proof of FULL vaccination, as well as proof of any medical exemption, and government-issued photo ID for all those 12 and older upon entry for BOTH visitations and funerals.  Please consider the allocation of extra time required to register for services. To ensure this registration process flows smoothly, please have documents ready at the door upon arrival.  Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Miramichi, Miramichi Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
