Keith M. Taylor Obituary

Keith M. Taylor

1931 – 2023

Keith MacDonald Taylor of Centre Napan, cherished husband of 71 years to Phyllis Taylor (nee Dickson), passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on February 7th, 2023, at the age of 92.  Born in Centre Napan on January 9th, 1931, he was the loving father to Glenn Taylor (Wanda), Lynda Leger (Michael) and Sharon Taylor (Kenny Chapman).  Keith was dearly loved by his 7 grandchildren: Christopher (Vero), Rachel (Corey), Natalie (Pat), Bradley (Naiomi), Allison (Austin), Adam and Erik (Zoey) and his 7 great-grandchildren: Ian, William, Tristan, Fiona, Ivy, Abigail and Callum.

Keith was the son of the late Mac and Connie (Gillis) Taylor, and is survived by his sister Betty MacInnis (late Milt).  He is also survived by sisters-in-law: Doreen, Dorothy, and Liz; brother-in-law, Dennis MacDonald; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; brothers: Roy, Eldon (late Helen), Malcolm, and Roland; and sister, Jessie MacDonald.

As newlyweds, Keith & Phyllis moved to Montreal to raise their family.  He was a hard worker as a welder at Dominion Bridge and a house painter.  He was known for his ice slides, nature hikes, ice fishing treks and bike rides.  Keith quickly became a popular fixture with the neighbourhood children.  His love of the Miramichi brought him home in 1974, where he started his second career as a milkman with Northumberland Co-op.  He was an avid fly fisherman and gardener, with a keen and constant sense of humour and he loved spending time with his family.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his family doctor Dr. Barua, along with the outpatient clinic, nurses, doctors, Extra-Mural staff, and all of the hospice and home care support workers.

Visitation occurred at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday, February 13th, 2023 from 1 PM - 2:30 PM with funeral service which followed from Adams Funeral Home Chapel at 3 PM.  Music for the service was provided by Organist, Lorraine Dickson.  The songs were: "I've a Friend", and "Jesus, the very thought of Thee".  The Service Lead was Jean Gravil, with a prayer by Benita Sauve.  The message was by Angela Parsons and Jean Gravil.  The Active Pallbearers were:  Christopher Taylor, Bradley Leger, Adam O'Connell, Erik O'Connell, Patrick Young, and Corey Doak.  Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program, The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, telephone (506) 773-3492.  Additionally, messages of condolence may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca
