In Loving Memory of Kirk Williston
1964 – 2026
Kirk Eric David Williston of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Hospital on March 17, 2026, at the age of 61, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, on September 6, 1964, he was the eldest son of David and Catherine (Murdock) Williston. He attended both St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church and St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
Kirk attended St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and later continued his studies at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He lived in Ontario for many years before returning home to New Brunswick. Throughout his career, Kirk worked with several organizations, including Dearborn Chemicals, CIBC, Mercedes-Benz, and Bell Aliant. He was an avid reader and a devoted trivia enthusiast, with a lifelong love of travel that took him to many memorable places.
Kirk had a generous heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. His quiet acts of kindness touched countless lives.
Kirk is survived by his parents; his sister, Carolyn Williston-Aubie (Allen) of Fredericton, New Brunswick; and his three brothers: Stymiest Williston (Kathy), and Leigh Williston (Wendy) of Bay du Vin, New Brunswick, and Ralph (Maureen) of Miramichi, New Brunswick. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Alan Kingston (late Gail) of Bay du Vin, New Brunswick, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
In addition to his sister Gail, Kirk was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Myrtle and Alvin Murdock, and his paternal grandparents, Gertrude and Phineas Williston.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King Street, Miramichi, New Brunswick. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 7017 Route 117, Bay du Vin, New Brunswick, with The Reverend Canon Richard McConnell and The Reverend Bob Barry as Officiants. Music for the service was provided by Jacqueline Allain. The hymns were "Blest Be The Tie That Binds", "Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross", and "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus". The scripture readings were read by Beth Wynter and Vicki MacDonald. The Honorary Pallbearers were Alan Kingston, Owen Kingston, Brianna MacDonald, David Murdock, Kathy Richardson, and The Reverend Deacon Rose Steeves. Active Pallbearers were Allan Carroll, Eric Kingston, Bernard Williston, Grant Williston, Peter Williston, and Andrew Wynter. Interment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.
