L. Winston “Winse” Carter
1940 – 2023
Lloyd Winston “Winse” Carter of Kouchibouguac, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on January 17, 2023, at the age of 82.
Born in Kouchibouguac, on December 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Simon Firth and Edith (Randall) Carter.
Winse was a woods worker by occupation and truly loved and enjoyed farming and having animals. He had a very kind and generous heart and was willing to help anyone at any time. Winse lived in Kouchibouguac all of his life and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Kouchibouguac.
Winston is survived by his sisters: Noreen Gardiner and Edna Flanaghan; brothers: Charlie Carter (Thelma) and Edward Carter (Joan); as well as by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Kenneth Carter; sisters: Marion Smith, Barbara Tweedie, Alice Peterson, and Marie Colpitts; sister-in-law, Lorna Carter; and brothers-in-law: Clayton Smith, Irvin Colpitts, James Tweedie, Curtis Peterson, Joseph Gardiner, and Lloyd Flanagan.
Visitation occurred at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Monday, January 23rd, from 12-1 PM. The funeral service followed at 1 PM from Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Carter officiating. Music for the service was provided by Janice Munn and the songs were “I Will Meet You In The Morning” sung by Keith & Angela Carter, “Old Gospel Ship” sung by Rev. Brent Carter, Angela Carter, Ross Carter and Janice Munn and “I’m Going Home With Jesus” sung by the congregation. The eulogy was presented by Angela Carter. Pallbearers were Ross Carter, Wayne Young, Randy Carter, Ronnie Gardiner, Kamden Carter and Keith Carter. Interment will be in the Tweedie Brook Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
