In Loving Memory of Lillian M. Gouchie
1929 - 2023
Lillian Mary Gouchie, wife of the late Kenneth Gouchie of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on September 13, 2023, at the age of 94.
Born in Chatham, NB, on May 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Florence (Wedge) Richard. Lillian was a Registered Nurse and worked on the maternity ward for many years. She was a member of St. Michael's Basilica, Santa Maria and CWL.
Lillian was known to all as a gentle, kind and giving woman. During her nursing career she was very special to many moms helping them bring their babies into the world. She lived a full life with her loving family and many close relatives and friends. She enjoyed sleepovers with her grandchildren, travelling, bridge and auction 45 parties, socializing at local events and vacationing, Lillian was also happy to volunteer her time with Meals on Wheels, church suppers and other charity events. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Lillian is survived by five daughters: Margaret Gouchie, Jennifer West (Don), Ramona Schuller Gouchie (Brie), Marlene Morris (Gerry), and Pam Cluett ( Gerry) of Miramichi; eleven grandchildren: Joel, Jeff, Jamie, Anna, Jasmine, Angela, Lisa, Kris, Kirk, Sabrina, and Jessica; 17 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Maria, Laura, Liam, Ian, Nolan, Kevin, Liam, Justin, Kayla, Christina, James, Lily, Mackenzie, Brookelyne, Brandon, and Aaron; five great-great grandchildren: Wyatt, Abigail, Sophia, Lincoln, and Austin; as well as nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth Gouchie; sister, Leona; brothers: Fred and Norman; and great-great granddaughter, Serena.
By Lillian's request there will be no visitation or mass. A graveside service will be held at St Michael's Cemetery on Wednesday, Sept 20th, 2023, at 2 PM.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the ALS Society of NB would be appreciated by the family.
