Lorna M. (Sullivan) Carter
1938 – 2022
Lorna Mae Carter of Kouchibouguac, NB, passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria in St. Louis de Kent, NB on May 18, 2022, at the age of 83.
Born in Gray Rapids, NB, on November 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Roy and Glenna (Kelly) Sullivan.
In her younger years, Lorna was a School Teacher, then a Homemaker who was an amazing cook and loved hosting people in her home. She spent many hours reading and writing in her journal. Even in the difficult days, she never lost her smile and chuckle and she never complained. She was a faithful member of the Kouchibouguac Pentecostal Church. She will be greatly missed by her family.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Villa Maria in St. Louis de Kent for the excellent care they provided Lorna.
Lorna is survived by her two sons: Kevin (Phyllis) and Ross (Betty Jean); one daughter, Gloria LeBlanc; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Rev. Don Arbeau; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Carter; brother, Elwood Sullivan; sister, Eleanor Arbeau; sister-in-law, Irma Sullivan; son-in-law, Francis LeBlanc; granddaughters: Emily Jean Carter, and Tamar Faith Carter; and grandson, Jamie Lee LeBlanc.
A public visitation was held at the United Pentecostal Church, Kouchibouguac on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 12-2 PM and funeral service to followed at 2 PM with Rev. Kent Carter & Rev. Brent Carter officiating. Music for the service was provided by Rev. Brent Carter and the hymns were: "When I Walk up the Streets of Gold" sung by the congregation, "What a Day That Will Be" and "Wait Until You See Me" sung by Keith & Angela Carter, and "Working the Road" sung by Ross Carter & Kent Carter. "Mary's Memories" was read by Karleena Carter, "Remembering Lorna" was presented by Nilah McLean, and the eulogy was read by Thelma Carter, written by Betty Jean Carter & Phyllis Carter. A special prayer was given by Rev. Don Arbeau. Honorary Pallbearers were: Eugene Sullivan & Don Arbeau Sr. Pallbearers were: Marcus LeBlanc, Mark Arbeau, Brandon Carroll, Quincy Arbeau, Jonathan Long, and David Bannister. Interment was in the Tweedie Brook Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the United Pentecostal Church, Kouchibouguac, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
