Lorne W. Ferguson
November 23rd 1946 - September 14th 2023
In memory of Lorne Ferguson of Napan, who passed away peacefully at the age of 76. To those who knew him, loved him well. He was born in Main River, NB, where he lived the farm and logging life with his parents Ernest and Catherine and four brothers: Jimmy, Alan, David and Ralph. In the early 70’s, he moved to Napan and opened his Logging business. He was a popular man in Napan, or “God’s Country” as he would call it. Decades of providing people with firewood so they were warm in the winter was always his priority. He was always there to help out in anyway and remembered everyone’s names, and stories even to his last days.
Lorne left behind his beloved spouse Bev Reynolds and her sons Brian, Jaimie and their families; his five children: Angie Forbes (Derek Forbes), Donna Ferguson (Nora Ringuette), Darren Ferguson (Krissy Fitzpatrick), Chrissy Guitard, his dearly departed daughter Lisa Ferguson and their mother Ruth Ferguson.
He has five beautiful grandchildren he adored: Drea, Brianna, Chase, Xavier and Evelyn.
Lorne also lovingly assumed the role of father, grandfather and mentor to members of his chosen extended family, and we know those connections will live on.
Our family would like to extend thanks to the many nurses and staff of the Miramichi Hospital and Extra-Mural. The level of care he received was a blessing.
As per wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation.
Burial was held at Riverside Cemetery, 1386 Water Street, Saturday, September 23rd at 3 PM, with The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight as Officiant.
We know Lorne touched many lives in his 76 years and we welcome everyone to join us at the Napan Community Hall on Sunday, September 24th from 2-4 PM to share memories, come together and find comfort as a community.
Everyone is welcome to join us at both or either.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, NB; telephone (506)773-3492, or messages of condolence may be shared online at www.adamsfh.ca
