Lylla G. Flynn

1928 – 2021

Lylla Gertrude Flynn, wife of the late Leo Flynn of St. Margaret's, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on December 24, 2021, at the age of 93.

Born in Chatham on September 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Earl Sr. and Gertrude (MacDonald) Dickson.  She was a Homemaker and attended St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church.

Lylla is survived by three sons: Gerard Flynn of Miramichi, Dale Flynn and Kevin Flynn (Diana) of St. Margaret's; six grandchildren: Neil (Natalie), Mike (Sherry), Angela, Rodney (Candice), Joey and Chelsey; five brothers: Blaine (June), Bliss (Myrna), Keith (Linda), Earl (Jessie) and Erwin (Myrtle) all of Napan; sister-in-law, Nora Dickson of Napan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Leo Flynn; son, Brian Flynn; daughter, Mary Flynn; daughter-in-law, Kim Flynn; brothers: Ben, Wilburn (Jimmy) and Joe; sisters: Jessie and Marion; and great-granddaughters: Ashley and Alicia.

A visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 6-9 PM.  A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, December 30, 2021, with The Reverend Father John Fraser as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Jacqueline Allain and the hymns were: "Here I Am Lord", "The Lord is My Shepherd", "Gentle Woman", "Amazing Grace", "Songs of the Angels" and the recessional hymn was "Why me Lord".  The scripture readings were read by June Dickson and Amber Flynn.  Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by June Dickson.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Blaine & June Dickson, Keith & Linda Dickson, Bliss & Myrna Dickson, Earl & Jessie Dickson and Erwin & Myrtle Dickson.  Active Pallbearers were:  Mike Flynn, Neil Flynn, Ryan Flynn, Natalie Flynn, Amber Flynn and Sherry Connors.  Interment will be in St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.

Please be advised of Government of New Brunswick requirements for mandatory continuous facemask wearing in all indoor public spaces, and the requirement to provide proof of FULL vaccination or  proof of any medical exemption and government-issued photo ID for those 12 and older upon entry for BOTH visitations and funerals.  Please consider the allocation of extra time required to enter for services.
