In Loving Memory of M. “Shirley” Paterson

1931 – 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret “Shirley” Paterson, who passed away at the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home on July 23, 2024, at the age of 92.

Born in Bay du Vin, NB on July 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clay and Alexa Williston.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin, NB and also attended St. John Baptist Church in Riverview, NB

She was the last surviving member of her family.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews, whom she was like a mother and grandmother to them.  She was predeceased by her parents; sisters: Jayne Rayner (Stan), Gloria Pyott (Ralph) and infant sister, Vivian; as well as brothers: Calvin (Hazel), Gerald (Mary), and infant brother, Steven.

By Shirley’s request there will be no visitation.  A Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 7017, Route 117, Bay du Vin on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 2 PM with The Reverend Thomas W.L. Nisbett officiating.  Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery.  A reception will follow in the church hall.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church or Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mount St. Joseph for the wonderful care Shirley received.
