In Loving Memory of Bud Walsh

1939 – 2023

Manley Richard “Bud” Walsh, husband of the late Barbara (MacLean) Walsh of Saint John and formerly of Miramichi, NB, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 17, 2023, at the age of 84.

Born in Dartmouth, NS, on February 17, 1939, he was the son of the late Manley and Hilda (Croft) Walsh.  Bud retired from the military after 23 years and was then employed by the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home for 21 years.  He was very active in his church (St. Andrew’s United Church) and was also very active in Scouting for 30 plus years.  He was a member of the Peacekeepers and was a true lover of cats.

Bud is survived by his daughters: Brenda Savage and Joyce (Gerry) LeGassie; sister, Blanch (Len) Courtney; brothers: Henry (Janet) Walsh and Eddie (Maureen) Walsh; sister and brother-in-law: Shirley Walsh, Roy (Mary Laura) MacLean, Faye (Gerry) Behnsen, and Frank Williston.  He was predeceased by wife, Barbara; sister, Catherine (Oran); brothers: Irvin (Linda) and Robert; sister-in-law Norma Williston; in-laws Everard and Bertie MacLean; as well as his parents.

At Bud’s request there was no visitation.  A memorial service was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2 PM.  The service was officiated by The Revered Eunkyu Ji. Music for the service was recorded music and included the following songs:  "How Great Thou Art" by Allan Jackson, and "Amazing Grace" by Allan Jackson.  Memories were shared by family and friends. The scripture readings were read by The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight.  Interment was in the Black River Community Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA or St. Andrew’s United Church would be appreciated by the family.
