In Loving Memory of Margaret Ann Wiwchar

1942 – 2025

On Tuesday December 30, 2025, Ann Wiwchar slipped away from us to be with God and her loving husband, Orest, at the age of 83.

           

Ann, her generous spirit and abundance of love, will forever be treasured by her five children:  Stephen (Connie) Wiwchar, Katherine Wiwchar, Michael (Mei) Wiwchar, Margaret Wiwchar, and Zenovia (Phillip) Wiwchar-Crawford; grandchildren:  Olivia, Jacob & Nicholas Wiwchar, Anna & Michael Wiwchar, Marcus & Maya Wiwchar, Taye Wiwchar, and Breanna, Natalia, Aiden & Marek Crawford; great-granddaughter, Khalan Wiwchar; her siblings: Paul Keoughan, Dorothy (Gord) Atkinson, and Susan Keoughan-McLean; Orest’s brothers and sisters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Ann was predeceased by her husband, Orest Wiwchar (2007); her Mom and Dad, Margaret & James Keoughan; her grandchildren: Sara Victoria & Kieran Wiwchar, and Margaret-Lynn Wiwchar; her sisters: Margie (Pete) Guimond, Eleanor Richard, Kay (Ed) Phee and Mary Eileen (Frank) Lamkey; her brothers: Jimmy, Pat & Michael Keoughan; as well as her Mother and Father in-law, Anna & Stephen Wiwchar.

           

Ann was a loving and devoted wife and Mom. She spent 35 years travelling across Canada with her husband, Orest, working in various jobs which included Ward Aide, Bookkeeper, Avon Sales Lady, and multiple DND employee positions of which the last was as a CR-03. Ann served her communities as a volunteer and as a devoted Catholic. Whether volunteering in hospitals, schools, or parishes both catholic and protestant because where there was a need, there was Ann giving of her time and talents.

           

The visitation was at the Garry J Armstrong the day Mom passed with family members in attendance. A Mass for the Repose of the Soul was held for Ann on the evening of December 30, 2025, by Father Jim Corrigan of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish.

 

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard Street, Miramichi (forever Chatham to Mom and Dad) on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverend Father David Rioux as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and St. Michael's Choir and the hymns were "Be Not Afraid", "The Lord is My Shepherd", "Make Me A Chanel of Your Peace", "Prayer of St. Francis", "One Bread, One Body" and "Amazing Grace".  The scripture readings was read by Katherine Wiwchar and Margaret Wiwchar and the Prayers of the Faithful was proclaimed by Taye Wiwchar.  The eulogy was presented by Zenovia Wiwchar-Crawford.  The honorary pallbearers were Katherine Wiwchar, Susan Keoughan-McLean, Dorothy (Keoughan) Atkinson and Gord Atkinson.  Pallbearers were Stephen Wiwchar, Michael Wiwchar, Phillip Crawford, Paul Keoughan, Jimmy Lamkey and Anthony Richard.  Interment was held in St. Michael's Cemetery.
