In Loving Memory of Marie Buckley

1946 – 2026

 

Jean “Marie” Buckley of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on March 13, 2026, at the age of 79.

 

Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, on April 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Adeona (Robichaud) Buckley.  Marie was top student in High School and College, and was awarded the 1964 Beaverbrook Scholar.  In her early years she worked as a School Teacher.  She then went to work for the Bank of Montreal for a few years, and then ended her working career with Walmart.  She attended St. Michael’s Basilica.

 

Marie is survived by her brother, Marven Buckley (Dianne) of Riverview, New Brunswick; one niece, Donna Whiteway of Moncton, New Brunswick; two nephews, Mark Buckley of Ottawa, Ontario, and Mike Buckley of Moncton, New Brunswick.  She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Shirley.

 

At the request of the family, there was no visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard Street, Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m with The Reverend Father Antonio Reyes as Celebrant.  The scripture readings was read by Margie Whalen and the Prayers of the Faithful was proclaimed by Margie Whalen.  Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery at a later date.

 

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Percy’s Place would be appreciated by the family.
