Marilyn E. Legere

    1940 – 2023

Marilyn Edna Legere, wife of John “Jack” Legere of Miramichi, passed away at her residence on March 14, 2023, at the age of 82.

Born in Sussex, NB, on September 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace (Sprague) Geldart.  In her younger years, she was in the Airforce for a short time.  Later in her working years, she was a Village Clerk for the town of Douglastown and then a cashier at the Save-Easy/Superstore.  She was a member of the Canadian Legion and ladies auxiliary for 40 years.  Her favorite sports were playing golf and darts.  Spending time with her friends playing cards and bingo brought her much joy.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, John “Jack” Legere; one daughter, Deborah Gray (Daniel) of Miramichi; two grandchildren: Laura Keough (Daniel) and Mark Kenny (Clarissa); four great-grandchildren: Ella and Austin Keough,  Maddix and Cai Kenny; sister-in-law, Anita Geldart of Ontario; as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, son, Barrie, sisters: Bernice, Charlotte, and Ruth, and brothers: George and Ralph.

A celebration of her life will occur at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 2-4 PM only.  There will be no funeral service.  Interment will be at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
