Mark “Billy” Hannah

1936 – 2024 

Mark William “Billy” Hannah of Miramichi, NB, passed away at Percy’s Place, Miramichi, NB, on October 28, 2024, at the age of 88.

Born in Chatham, NB, on February 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Mark L. and Agnes (Landry) Hannah.  He worked at CFB Chatham as a Water and Sewage Treatment Plant Operator for 35 years.  “Billy” loved to dance, and whenever there was one being held at the Knights of Columbus or Pioneer Club, he was there.  He was a member of St. Michael’s Basilica.  

“Billy” is survived by his companion, Patricia Mullin of Miramichi; one daughter, Michelle Balliet of Miramichi; one son, Stephen Hannah (Jennifer) of Calgary, AB; one sister, Mary Cassie (Edward) of Fort McMurray, AB; six brothers: Robert (Bob) Hannah of Alberta, Michael Hannah (Joan) of Miramichi, Patrick Hannah (Connie) of Miramichi, Bart Hannah (Shirley Ann) of Miramichi, Paul Hannah (Marlene) of Fredericton, NB, and John Hannah (Jake) of Moncton, NB; as well as six grandchildren: Sophia, Isabella, Danika, Layton, Brody and Shane, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents; and five brothers: Thomas, Leonard, Lawrence, Rodney, and Gerald.

As per “Billy’s” request, there was no visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated at St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 11 AM, with The Reverend Father David Rioux and The Reverend Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrants.  Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and the hymns were "The Lord Is My Shepherd", "Amazing Grace", "Taste and See", "Songs of the Angels" and the recessional hymn was "Into Your Hands".  The scripture readings was read by Natalie Mullin.  Interment was in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

The family would like to thank everyone who is involved in anyway with Percy’s Place for your kindness and compassion during Billy’s stay.
