Mary A. MacDonald
1933 – 2021
Mary Aldona MacDonald, wife of the late James Edward MacDonald of Miramichi, passed away at the Bridgeview Hall, Miramichi, on April 17, 2021, at the age of 88.
Born in Belledune, NB, on April 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel (Russell) Lavigne. She was a Homemaker, a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, ACW, and Altar Guild.
She is survived by one daughter, Martha Daigle (Jean Marc) of Saint John; two sons: Robert MacDonald (Margaret Ann), and Darrell MacDonald (Cynthia) all of Miramichi; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Rose (Maruschak) Jerry of Woodstock, ON; and one brother, Leo Lavigne of Pokeshaw, NB. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James Edward MacDonald; daughter, Nancy; son, Albert; sister, Margaret; and brother, Arnold.
A public visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday, April 19, 2021, from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. A private funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021, from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, with Rev. Perry Cooper, and Rev. Deacon Eddie Quann officiating. Music for the service was provided by Organist, Karen Kaiser. Hymns included: "Amazing Grace", "Old Rugged Cross", and "How Great Thou Art". Pallbearers were: Kevin Bourque, Kirk Daigle, Jonathan MacDonald, Mason MacDonald, Laurie Baldwin, and Bill Skerry. Interment will be held in the Black River Community Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
