1945 – 2023

Mary Gladys “Shelia” Thibideau, spouse of Austin Johnston of Miramichi, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, September 22nd, 2023, at the age of 78.

Born in Chatham, NB, on February 2nd, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon Thibideau and late Mary Thibideau, both of Escuminac, NB.  She was a Homemaker, and a member of St. Michael’s Basilica.

Sheila is survived by her spouse, Austin Johnston; her daughter, Susan Bourque (Mo) of Miramichi, and her son, Rick Thibideau (Audrey) of Rexton, NB.  She is also survived by her two sisters: Mary and Shirley; her three grandchildren: Zach, Joe and Jocelyn; and great-grandchildren: Everly and Telia. 

Shelia was predeceased by her parents and brother Fred.

By request of the family, there will be no visitation.  A graveside service will occur in St. Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery on Friday, September 29th, 2023, at 11 AM with The Reverend Father Dan Bastarache officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
