In Loving Memory of Mary Mabel (McCallum) King, RN
1943-2023
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary, wife of the late Thomas R. King and daughter of the late Percy and Florence (Cassidy) McCallum. Mary was born in Chatham, NB, graduated from Hotel Dieu Nursing School in 1963 and continued nursing at various positions until her retirement in 2004. After retirement, she continued nursing until early 2005.
In her nursing career, Mary exhibited unparalleled compassion, dedication, and professionalism. She touched countless lives with her healing hands and comforting presence. Patients and colleagues alike were drawn to her warmth and kindness, making her a beloved figure in the healthcare community. Her tireless efforts to alleviate suffering and promote well-being were a true reflection of her generous and selfless nature.
Mary's devotion to her family was unwavering. She will be forever remembered by her daughters: Susan LeBlanc (Serge) of Bathurst, NB, and Sharon Ross (Darren) of Moncton, NB; her sons: Thomas (Darcie), Patrick (Kelly), William (Stephanie), and Michael (Stephanie) from Miramichi, NB. She will be deeply missed by her sisters: Katherine, Carol, Florence, Doris (Ches), and Margaret (Mike); her brothers: Frank (Sharon), Bob (Maryellen), and Richard (Paula); her sisters-in-law: Maureen English, Rita Swaine, and Sheila McCallum. Mary was a cherished Grammy to Remi (Shayna) and Ryan (Olivia), Matthew, Nathan, Samson, Carlin, Dustin, Darian (Melissa), Daitan (Tabitha), Jazlyn, Rebecca, McKenzie, Nathan, and Matt and great- grandchildren Natalie and Sophia. She also leaves to mourn several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Bill; brothers-in-law: John, Gordon, David, Roy, Frank; and an infant son.
The family would like to express their huge appreciation to the loving staff of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home. The love and care you showed to our Mother Mary will never be forgotten.
