Mary Mae Walsh Obituary

In Loving Memory of Mary Mae Walsh

1934 – 2024

With great regret our Mother, Mary Mae Walsh of Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, and formerly of Morisson’s Cove, was called home to Our Lord surrounded by her family at the Residence La Belle Vie on January 13, 2024, at the age of 89.

Born in Escuminac, NB, on November 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Harriet (Manuel) Robie.  She was a Homemaker, a part of the Pioneers Group and attended St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

She was totally dedicated to her children in all aspects of their lives. Mae spent many hours with her husband, Byron raising farm animals and attended to large gardens. Mae was a great cook and always had a meal on the table for whoever showed up.

Mae is survived by seven daughters: Dorothy Tracy (Bill) of Miramichi, Linda McCarthy (Jim) of Miramichi, Margaret Murphy (Pat) of Miramichi, Carmel Reynolds (Ron) of Fort McMurray, AB, Patsy Driscoll (Leonard) of Miramichi, Sandra Daly (Pat) of Moncton, and Tracy Walsh (Eymard) of Baie-Sainte-Anne; four sons: Paul Walsh (Vicki) of Ontario, Donnie Walsh (Debbie) of Ontario, Kenny Walsh (Janice) of Miramichi, and Chris Walsh (Jana) of Gardiner’s Point;   38 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Dorothy Hay of Glenwood, Joyce Gregan (Jimmy) of Hardwicke, and Ruth MacDonald (Graham) of Hardwicke; daughters-in-law: Ruth Walsh, and Joyce Walsh of Black River Bridge; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Byron E. Walsh; four sons: Norman, Burt, Tommy, and Everett; three brothers: Eddie, John, and Charles (Bud); two sisters: Stella and Alvena (Beanie); five grandsons: Joey, Matthew, Brayden, Tommy, and Ethan; and son-in-law, Jimmy Driscoll.

We would like to thank the Extra-Mural Nurses for the kind and compassionate care they gave on their visits, and also the wonderful staff at the Residence La Belle Vie that went above and beyond.
