Milton “Milt” Delbert MacInnis
1932-2022
After a life well-lived, Milton “Milt” Delbert MacInnis passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 11, 2022, just eight days before his 90th Birthday.
Born in Napan Bay, New Brunswick on June 19, 1932, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family being predeceased by his father and mother, Jack & Nina MacInnis, and eleven siblings.
Milt is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” MacInnis of 68 years; his son, Brian (Marion); his granddaughter, Ashley MacInnis; brother & sister-in-law, Keith and Phyllis Taylor, sisters-in-law: Liz Taylor, Dorothy Taylor, and Doreen Taylor; brother-in-law, Dennis MacDonald; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
Milt worked for NB Power for 34 years, retiring in 1992. During retirement, he and Betty spent time travelling and at their cottage with their granddaughter, friends and family. Milt also enjoyed ATV drives in the woods, fishing and hunting with friends-the late Ron Hachey, Joe Daley and John Johnson, as well as daily drives to Point Aux Carr. For many years he looked forward to his annual fishing trips with Brian and lifelong friends.
He was a member of the St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi. He was also a former member of The Highland Society of New Brunswick at Miramichi, and the Chatham Curling Club.
A visitation occurred on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 12:00-1:45 PM, at St. Andrew's United Church, 188 Wellington St., Miramichi, NB, followed by a funeral service the same day at 2 PM also at St. Andrew's United Church, officiated by The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Music for the service was provided by Organist, Lois McKinnon and the St. Andrew's United Church Choir. The hymns were: "In the Garden", "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", with the recessional being "God Be with You 'Til We Meet Again". The scripture readings were read by Ashley MacInnis. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Andrews United Church, Alzheimer Society of Canada, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
