In Loving Memory of Norine Hogan


August 17, 1939 – January 3, 2026

 

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Norine Alma (Fletcher) Hogan, after a brief illness at the age of 86.  Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Norine was the daughter of the late Raymond and Josephine (Paulin) Fletcher.

 

Norine will be deeply missed by her children, Bill (Heather) Hogan of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Carolyn (Harold) Simmons of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Sean (Kelly) Hogan of Dieppe, New Brunswick, and Pat Hogan of Miramichi, New Brunswick; her grandchildren, Gregory, Meaghan, Sean, Haylie, Lauren, Katelyn, and Sophie; her great grandchildren, Haylie, Sadie, Liam, Rhys, Addy, and Kade; her step great-grandchildren, Raine, and Damon. Also treasured by Jennifer, Tanya, Colin, and many other nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Bernard Mullin. 

 

She was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Hogan; her daughter, Heather Hogan; her sister, Barbie; brother-in-law, George Matheson; and sister, Pauline Mullin. 

 

Norine was a stay-at-home mother for many years, caring for her children and looking after her home. She returned to the workforce as a receptionist and then for many years as a real estate agent.  

 

Norine was a devout Catholic and her endless love and support will be greatly missed.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King Street, Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8 :00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial was held at St Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard Street, Miramichi, New Brunwick, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11 :00 a.m., with The Reverend Father John Fraser as celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and St. Michael's Choir and the hymns were "Here I Am Lord", "The Lord Is My Shepherd", "Hail Mary Gentle Woman", "Prayer Of Saint Francis" and "Ave Maria".  The scripture readings were read by granddaughter, Meaghan Gourdeau and grandson, Sean Hogan.  The Prayers of the Faithful was proclaimed by granddaughter, Haylie Simmons.  The eulogy was presented by daughter, Carolyn Simmons and son, Sean Hogan.  Pallbearers were grandsons: Gregory Hogan and Sean Hogan, son-in-law, Harold Simmons and godson/great nephew, Michael Hindle.  Honorary pallbearers were Shirley MacDonald, Carol Kane, Bill Davis, Michael Carroll, Barbara Keating, Lil Williston, Artie Morris and Michael Fletcher.  A group of A.C.W ladies formed a guard of honor. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery later in the spring.  

 

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Percy’s Place, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
