          1946 – 2022

Patricia “Pat” Mona Phelan-Gibson, the wife of Aubrey Gibson of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on February 16, 2022, at the age of 75.

Born in Chatham, on July 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mona (Kane) Phelan.  She was a Hairstylist for many years and attended St. Michael’s Basilica.

Patricia “Pat” is survived by her husband, Aubrey Gibson; one daughter, Cynthia Routledge (Wayne) of Amherst, NS; one son Jody Washburn (Pam) of New Jersey, NB; one sister, Rose Dorothy Dickins (Robert) of Courtenay, BC; two step-sons: Kevin Gibson (Linda) of Fredericton and Greg Gibson of Prince George, BC; five grandchildren: Jason (Terra) Routledge, Kelcie Routledge, Jared (Regan) Routledge, Alex Washburn, and Sarah Washburn; three step-grandchildren: Maeve, Austin, and Jordan Gibson; five great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Abby, Sybil, Blake, and Hunter; two nieces: Shelley and Tanya; one nephew, Darryl.  She was predeceased by her parents and one son, Patrick Joseph Washburn.  

At the request of the family, there was no visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial occured at St. Michael’s Basilica on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 11 AM with The Reverend Father Antonio Reyes as Celebrant.  Music for the service was provided by Jacqueline Allain.  The hymns were:  "How Great Thou Art", "The Lord Is My Shepard", "You Are Mine", "Hail Mary Gentle Woman", and "Songs of The Angels".  The recessional hymn was "Peace Is Flowing". The eulogy was by Kevin Gibson.  The scripture readers were Maeve McNutt, and Pam Washburn.  Interment will occur in St. Michael’s Cemetery later in the spring.


Please be advised of Government of New Brunswick requirements for mandatory continuous facemask wearing in all indoor public spaces, and the requirement to provide proof of FULL vaccination or proof of any medical exemption and government-issued photo ID for those 12 and older upon entry for BOTH visitations and funerals.
