In Loving Memory of Patricia (“Patsy”) Anne Kingston, RN
April 8, 1947 – May 28, 2023
After lengthy illness at the age of 76, Patsy Kingston passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on May 28th, 2023, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital.
Patricia Anne Kingston (nee Walsh) was born April 8th, 1947, at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Chatham to parents Frank and Mary Walsh (nee Reinsborough). Patsy was a lifelong resident of Chatham, a proud graduate of Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing, and a registered nurse for many years at Hotel Dieu Hospital.
She is survived by her immediate family - her husband of 52 years, Weldon, her daughter Kelli (Sean), her youngest son Jeff and daughter-in-law Jennifer, her daughter-in-law Carrie (Randy), grandchildren Olyvia, Jack, Emily, and Jansen, and close cousins Cathy and Colleen (David Watling) Reinsborough – and a large extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, distant relatives, and dear friends. Patsy is also survived by her beloved pet “family” – her precious cat Susie, her dear “grandpups” Diego, Hank, Quinn, Gemma, and Gunner, and her Riverside Drive and Losier Hall friends Lenny, Trixie, and Lucy. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary, in-laws Simon and Alma Kingston, her sister Elizabeth (“Betty”) Wood (David), her beloved son Randy, sister-in-law Roberta Whalen (Bill), and brother-in-law Alexander (Sandy) Kingston (Mary).
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Friday, June 2nd from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, with a Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St., Miramichi on Saturday, June 3rd at 11 AM, with The Reverend Father David Rioux as Celebrant. Music for the service was provided by Jacqueline Allain and the hymns were “How Great Thou Art”, “Psalm 25: To You O Lord I Lift My Soul”, “No Greater Love”, “I Am The Living Bread”, “God Will Wipe The Tears”, “Song Of The Angels” and the recessional hymn was “Amazing Grace”. The eulogy was presented by daughter, Kelli Kingston and the scripture reading were read by granddaughter, Emily Kingston and cousin, Cathy Reinsborough. The prayers of the faithful were proclaimed by cousin, Cathy Reinsborough. Burial followed at St. Michael’s Cemetery, and the pallbearers were: nephew, Randy Campbell, family friend, Kevin Gardiner, nephew, Michael Kingston, family friend, Michael McFarlane, son-in-law, Sean Sproule and cousin, David Watling, and then a reception followed at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chatham.
Donations of sympathy can be made to the Miramichi SPCA in memory of Patsy’s love for animals, or to St. Michael’s Cemetery. Sincere thanks to all of the dedicated healthcare providers at Miramichi Regional Hospital and Losier Hall who took such wonderful care of Patsy over the last few years – special appreciation for her trusted physician Dr. Gerard Losier.
