Phyllis S. Comeau R.N.
1946 – 2021
Phyllis Stewart Comeau R.N. of Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on May 17, 2021, at the age of 74.
Born in Chatham, on September 25, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Edith (Jardine) MacFarlane. Phyllis was a Registered Nurse and started her working career at Hotel Dieu (Chatham), and then Miramichi Senior Citizens Home. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, CWL, and the Retired Nurses Association.
She is survived by her one daughter, Nicole Comeau of Miramichi; one son, Adam Comeau (Charis Lynch) of Miramichi; four grandchildren: Justin, Jayme, Layne and Leah; one great-grandchild, Kyleigh; and one sister, Jean Magierowski (Bill) of Campbell River, BC. She was predeceased by her parents; and one son, Stewart Comeau.
A PUBLIC visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 2-4 PM. A PRIVATE Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 11 AM with Father Dass as Celebrant. Music for the service was provided by Mike Davis, and the hymns were: “Here I Am Lord”, “Hallelujah”, “On Eagles Wings”, “Songs of the Angels”, and the recessional hymn was “Be Not Afraid”. The scripture readings were proclaimed by Diane Robichaud, and Juanita Schofield. Prayers of the Faithful were led by Juanita Schofield. The eulogy was presented by Adam Comeau.
Retired Nurses formed an honour guard outside the church following the Mass. Pallbearers were: Tony Robichaud, Eric Robichaud, Frankie Robichaud, Perry Comeau, Josh Comeau and Scott Comeau. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
