1935 – 2025
Reginald “Reg” Clarke Fulton, husband of Gladys (Baker) Fulton of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed peacefully away at Percy’s Place on February 11, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born in Portapique, Mountain, Nova Scotia, on May 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Lawson and Blossom (Ettinger) Fulton. He proudly served in the military for 32 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force both at home and abroad (3 Wing Germany), and retired with the distinction of Master Warrant Officer. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #3, and found joy in his church community at St. Andrew’s United Church.
Reg is survived by his wife, Gladys (Baker) Fulton; daughter, Brenda (Louis Duplessie); son, Larry (Natasha Gale), all of Miramichi, New Brunswick; and daughter, Pamela (Kirk Coyle) of Cashiers, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Dawn, Lori, Heather, Kent, Marissa, and Scott; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his eldest son, Steven, and sisters, Gloria and Ardith Fulton.
Reg’s boundless affection and kindness were a beacon of light, bringing warmth and joy to every gathering. He cherished every moment spent with Gladys and those he held dear, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His laughter, stories and keen sense of wit will forever resonate in our memories.
He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially his cherished time at the cottage they build themselves on the beautiful Miramichi River. The serene surroundings and peaceful waters provided a beautiful backdrop where he could relax, enjoy a quiet afternoon, or by sharing meals with loved ones, the cottage was a place of happiness.
His legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire us, and his presence will forever be felt in the hearts of his family and friends. We invite you to remember and celebrate the extraordinary life he led, and the love he generously shared for us all.
A funeral service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 188 Wellington St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11 AM, with The Reverend Geza Szemok as Officiant. Music for the service was provided by Organist and Choir Director, Mrs. Lois MacKinnon and the St. Andrew's United Church Choir. The hymns included: "Amazing Grace", "The Old Rugged Cross", and "How Great Though Art". The recessional hymn was "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder". A solo "You Are My Sunshine" was sung by great-great granddaughter, Mila Gillam. Scripture readings were read by The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Remembrances were shared by the family. In accordance with the family's wishes, there was no visitation. Instead, a reception following the funeral was held at St. Andrew's United Church and the family extended a warm welcoming to anyone who was in attendance. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
