Rena M. MacPherson

     1941 – 2020

Rena Marie MacPherson, wife of the late Daniel MacPherson of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on February 26, 2020 at the age of 78.

Born in Laketon, NB, on July 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Beatrice (Leclaire) Hebert.  She worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital (Chatham) in Food Services before moving to the Miramichi Regional Hospital in the Laundry Dept.  She loved being a part of a Bowling League for many years and found great joy in playing Bingo.  

She is survived by two sons: George MacPherson (Ethel) of Nelson and Stacy MacPherson (Patti MacKenzie) of Napan; four grandchildren: Jessica, Terri-Lyn (Nick), Daniel and Will; three great grandchildren: Derrica, Veronica and Nolan; four sisters: Imelda Reynolds and Jeannette Waters of Miramichi; Julia Hebert of Kouchibouguac and Delina Hebert of Saint-Louis-de-Kent; Aunt Bertha Sullivan of Miramichi and sister-in-law, Bernice Hebert of Saint-Louis-de-Kent; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Daniel MacPherson; two brothers: Antoine and Alphonse Hebert, three brothers-in-law: John and Gilles Hebert and Billy Reynolds.

A private visitation was held.  The public attended a memorial service that was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 2 pm with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating.  Music for the service was recorded music “Amazing Grace”, “The French Song” and “I’ll Fly Away”.  The lighting of the Memory Candle was by George and Stacy MacPherson.  The scripture readings were read by Terri-Lyn Boyles, Jessica MacPherson, Daniel MacPherson and Will MacKenzie.  The eulogy was presented by Stacy MacPherson.  A reception followed at Carmel United Church, Napan.

Honorary pallbearers were Imelda Reynolds, Julia Hebert, Bertha Sullivan, Jeannette Waters, Delina Hebert and Bernice Hebert. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery later in the spring.
