Rita C. LeBlanc

1943 - 2021

Rita Corona LeBlanc, wife of Leo LeBlanc of Miramichi passed at her residence on July 8, 2021 at the age of 77.

Born in Chelmsford, NB, on August 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Trevors) Doyle.

Rita was an RNA for 42 years, working in New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario and Germany. She was a loving, kind, and compassionate woman with a strong FAITH. Rita was also a member of the Santa Maria, Cursillo and Father Dan’s Book Club.

She enjoyed talking with friends, crossword puzzles, wii golf, bingo and her furry friend Maggie.

Rita is survived by her husband, Leo LeBlanc; son, Paul LeBlanc (Lucille) of Miramichi; two sisters: Betty Ann Laurin (Guy) and Patsy Curtis (Garie) all of Miramichi; one brother, Wally Doyle (Moreen) of Miramichi.  She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Billy and Jimmy and infant sister, Teresa.

PUBLIC visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  PUBLIC Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated at St. Michael’s Basilica on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11 AM with Father Dass as Celebrant, and Father Leon Creamer, Father Dan Bastarache, Father Dan Melanson, Father Charles Udeh, and Father Anthony Papu as Co-Celebrants.  The music for the service was provided by Lynn Doyle and Carmel MacTavish.  The hymns were: “The Lord is my Shepherd”, “Prayer of St. Francis”, “Bread, Blessed and Broken”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, and the recessional hymn was “Peace is Flowing Like a River”.  The scripture readings were read by Dan Valin, and the Prayers of the Faithful were proclaimed by Ron Laurin.  The eulogy was presented by Father Dan Melanson.

The honorary pallbearers were: Walter & Christine O’Toole, Doug & Jean MacDonald, Debbie Manuel, Simone Daley and Theresa Comeau.  The pallbearers were: Elphege Theriault, Joe Conroy, Leslie Nowlan, Bill Forbes, Frank Trevors and Wes Curtis.  Interment was held in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation or Miramichi SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
