Robert “Bob” P. Dempsey
1938 – 2021
Robert “Bob” Patrick Dempsey, husband of Helen Dempsey of Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on May 6, 2021 at the age of 83.
Born in Toronto, ON, on March 19, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Dempsey. He was a Truck Driver for many years. He attended Family Worship Center, Miramichi.
Bob is survived by his wife, Helen (Ashford) Dempsey; one daughter Deborah Dempsey of Miramichi; one son Rob Dempsey (Kari) of Miramichi; grandchildren Lincoln Dempsey and Jordan Kingston (Nikki Steeves); sister-in-law Grace Morehouse of Old Towne, Maine and brother-in-law, Merrill Ashford of Ontario; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters Margaret Greeves and May Williams, one brother Jackie Dempsey.
Visitation was held at the Family Worship Center, 1148 King George Hwy, Miramichi on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 2 PM from the Family Worship Center, with Rev. Theo Craig officiating. The music for the service was provided by Cheryl Craig, and Pam Ferris. The songs were: “You’re Still Lord”, sung by Pam Ferris, and congregational songs: “The Old Rugged Cross”, and “Just Over in the Glory Land” were led by Wes Salisbury. “Look for Me” was sung by Pam Ferris, and "Sweet Beulah Land”, and the recessional song “What a Day That Will Be”, was sung by Cheryl Craig. The eulogy was presented by Rob Dempsey, and a poem “What Makes a Dad” was read by Deborah Dempsey. An online video was played from Rev. Brent Carter. Interment will be held in the Riverside Cemetery later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
