Robert E. Small
1953 – 2023
Robert Earl Small, husband of Mary (Chester) Small of Miramichi, NB, and formerly of Fergus, ON, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on March 10, 2023, at the age of 69.
Born in Fergus, ON, on July 8, 1953, he was the son of the late Garfield and Myrtle (Saunders) Small. He worked for GSW in Fergus, ON, as a Welder for 40 years. He also had a passion working as a Volunteer Firefighter at the Fergus Fire Department for 21 years.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Small; one son, Colin Small (Melissa) of Fergus, ON; three grandchildren: Isacc, Leah and Zoey; one sister, Wendy Josefo (Jay) of Toronto, ON; one brother, Jack Small of Fergus, ON; and his mother-in-law, Delores Chester of Miramichi. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Bradley Small; and sister-in-law, Cathy Small.
At Robert’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be in Ontario at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
