Roland W. Manderson Obituary
In Loving Memory of Roland W. Manderson
1949 – 2025
Roland Wilson Manderson, husband of the late Wilma Manderson passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born in Miramichi, New Brunswick, on September 11, 1949, he was the son of the late Earl and Rae (Trevors) Manderson. Roland worked as a Department of Fisheries and Oceans Officer for many years. He loved the outdoors, walking, gardening, and riding his bike with his wife, Wilma. Roland was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dancing was a true passion of his, along with waxing his truck. He had a great love and enjoyment of animals, and he was an exceptional carpenter.
Roland was a warm, kind-hearted soul, known for his love of conversation and genuine ability to listen to anyone, offering comfort, understanding, and a kind word when it was needed most. Roland had a gift for making everyone feel that they were seen and heard. Roland (Poppa) loved a good conversation over a hot cup of tea with anyone he welcomed into their home.
Roland is survived by his daughter, Deborah Gallan (Daniel) of Quispamsis, New Brunswick; his son, Daryl Manderson (Tanya Murphy) of Miramichi, New Brunswick; four grandchildren: Danielle (Julien), Samantha, Sarah, and Aidan; two sisters: Lois Gerrish (Lindsay), and Mary McKibbon (late Jack), all of Miramichi, New Brunswick, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, Wilma Manderson, and two brothers: Purdy and Paul Manderson.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 2-4 PM. The funeral service followed at 4 PM at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, with The Reverend Father John Fraser officiating.
