Ronald “Rickey” Stewart
1949 – 2023
Ronald “Rickey” Stewart of Black River Bridge, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on January 28, 2023, at the age of 73.
Born in Chatham, on June 15, 1949, he was the son of the late George and Bernice (Russel) Stewart. He was a Body Man for many years. He was involved with Miramichi Shooting Sports in Redmondville and loved bowling in a league. He truly enjoyed playing pool at Dooley’s with the guys and was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting.
Rickey is survived by two sons: Lance MacDonald (Rosalee) of Napan, and Paul Reid of Manitoba; two grandchildren: Hunter and Isabella Rose; longtime friend, Marina Carroll of Miramichi; Lance’s mother, Irma MacDonald of Napan; one sister, Jeannie Stewart of Alberta; and two brothers: Donnie Stewart and Mark Stewart all of Miramichi. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers: Daryl, Wayne, and Gary; and sisters: Karen and Edna.
Visitation occured at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday, February 2nd from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Funeral service occured at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 1 PM with The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Music for the service was recorded music and the songs were "It's A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, "Long Black Train" by Josh Turner and "Time to Say Goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. The scripture readings were read by Christine Ross Stewart and Stephen Brophy and the eulogy was presented by Sarah Brophy.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
