Thelma Hayward Obituary

In Loving Memory of Thelma Hayward

October 29, 1937 – February 16, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Thelma Hayward of Miramichi, New Brunswick. She passed away surrounded by her loving family.

She was a woman of great faith, lifetime member of the UCW, a wonderful cook, avid quilter, and gardener.

She was the daughter of the late Clara and Curtis Murray of the Mill Road, New Jersey, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenny (Ella); and sisters, Ruth (Eddy) and Mildred (Richard). She will be missed by her devoted sisters: Marie (late Perley), Betty (late Douglas), Phyllis (George); and brother, John.

She had many loves in her life, but none more profound than the one she shared with her late husband, Byron Jimmo. Although not always an easy life, she was not afraid of hard work, fought with determination, and she was a constant source of support, love and guidance to her five children:  Cindy (Bruce), Barbara (Edward), Sandy (Donna), Kim (Harry), and Cheryl (Gary).  A devoted grandmother to Candice (Gervais), Alexander (Kelsey), Alicia (Sara), Bryanna (Sameer), Megan (Catlin), Ryan (Brittany), Ashley (Mike), Jessica, Clare, Chloe, and James; and to great-grandchildren:  Aiden, Chase, Barrett, Jordyn, Rayea, Bodie, and Sophia.

She was lucky enough to find love again in her late husband, Clint Hayward, and will be remembered fondly by her five step-children: Ricky (Kora), Dianne (Frank), Peter (Patti), John (Cheryl), David (Shelley); their fourteen children, and fifteen grandchildren.

To those who helped the family in time of need, we are forever grateful. A heartfelt thank you. To a life well-lived, rest easy Mum. We will miss your wisdom and strength.

Visitation was held at Adam’s Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
