In Loving Memory of Thomas J. Conroy
1941 – 2023

Thomas Joseph Conroy, spouse of Connie McCarthy of Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on October 2, 2023, at the age of 82.

Born in Chatham, NB, on September 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Alexander and Gertrude (McDonald) Conroy of Glenwood, New Brunswick. Thomas was a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793. He attended St. Michael’s Basilica.

Thomas is survived by his spouse, Connie McCarthy; four children: Debbie Conroy, Lynne Work (Nick), Russell Conroy, and Tom Conroy Jr.; four step-children: Debbie Carroll, Susan Lambert, Kevin McCarthy (Kim), and Wayne McCarthy; one sister, Theresa Reynolds; one brother, Clarence Conroy; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and mother of his children, Ann Quinn; one sister, Mary Woods; and three brothers: Raymond, Terry, and Frank Conroy.

At Thomas’ request, there was no visitation. A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Basilica in the Bishop Roger’s Chapel, 10 Howard St., Miramichi, with The Reverend Father David Rioux as Celebrant. Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell. The entrance hymn was "Here, I Am Lord". Following hymns included: "To You Oh Lord I lift My Soul", "Prayer of Saint Francis", and "Amazing Grace". The recessional hymn was "Songs of the Angels". The scripture readings were by Debbie Carroll. Interment was in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
