Thomas (Tom) Medley McLenaghan, husband of the late Marjorie Ellen Esther (Mills) McLenaghan of Campbell St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully at Percy’s Place on August 17, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born in Bay du Vin, New Brunswick, on January 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Frederick and Cecilia (Dutcher) McLenaghan.
Tom worked for many years as a bus driver for SMT, and then moved on to Miramichi City in the Public Works Department until retirement.
He enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey games. He also loved to go down to Ritchie’s Wharf where he would dance the evening away.
Tom is survived by his children: Lenny (late Daphne), Gary (Janet), Fred (Kim), and Wade (Lily); granddaughter, Jacelyn McLenaghan; two great-grandchildren: Darcy and Daxon McLenaghan and their mother, Peggy; sisters: Edith (late Ron), Cecilia (Brian), and Sylvia (John); brother, Harry (late Sonia); brother-in-law, Lloyd Mills; and sister-in-law, Arlene; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Marjorie (Mills) McLenaghan; grandson, Gregory McLenaghan; siblings: Raymond (late Lillian), Robert, Edna (late Ken), Stanley, Alfred, Wilfred, and Harold.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral service was held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 7017 Route 117, Bay du Vin on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM with The Reverend Canon Richard McConnell officiating. Music for the service was provided by Jacqueline Allain, and the hymns were: "Amazing Grace", "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "Be Not Afraid", and the recessional hymn was "How Great Thou Art". Scripture reading and eulogy was by brother Harry McLenaghan. Pallbearers were sons: Lenny, Gary, Fred, and Wade McLenaghan, and friends: Keith Carter and Kamden Carter. Interment was in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery, Bay Du Vin, New Brunswick.
