Ulysse “Lite” Manuel

     1950 – 2022

Ulysse “Lite” Joseph Manuel of Hardwicke passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on March 28, 2022, at the age of 71.

Born in Baie-Ste-Anne, on September 14, 1950, he was the son of the late James and Virgina (Martin) Manuel.  He was a Fisherman by trade and attended St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Adams) Martin; children: Renee Mazerolle, Lisette Schofield, France Comeau, Pierrette Mazerolle, Cordelia Manuel, Pamela Mazerolle and Michelle Mazerolle; eight grandchildren; three sisters: Bernadette Breau (John Paul), Elzea Martin (Clement) and Zelma Martin (late Marc); two brothers: Adrien Manuel (Pat) and Gerald Manuel.  He was predeceased by his parents, James & Virgina (Martin) Manuel; brothers: Meldric, Romuald and Emile; and step-son, Tony Martin.

There was no visitation by request.  Funeral service was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 11 AM with Rev Don Hamilton officiating.  Music for the service was recorded music, "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban, "I Believe" by Jimmy Fortune and "Sailor" by Petula Clark.  The eulogy was presented by Renee Mazerolle.  The scripture readings were read by Zelma Martin and Frances Reid and the Prayers of the People were proclaimed by Zelma Martin.  Honorary pallbearers were Mark Adams, Denis Manuel, Bill Scott and Haley Williston.  Interment will be held in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Baie-Ste-Anne later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Muscular Dystrophy, Miramichi Food Bank, or NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
