Valerie Constance Gregan

August 3, 1935 - April 1, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the children of Valerie Gregan wish to announce her passing on the morning of April 1st at her residence at the age of 87.

Mum was of British nationality; she was born in Hinckley, Leicestershire to Harry and Alice Steans and had two brothers, Roy and Alec.  The family moved to Exeter, Devon where Mum resided until she decided to venture to another country.  Mum came to Canada by ship and docked in Quebec on October 2, 1958, at the age of 23.  She then took a trip to Moncton, NB where she met the love of her life, our Dad, Leonard (deceased 1997); they married on August 4, 1962, and went on to have 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.  Our Mum was an extremely intelligent and unique woman who loved books, movies, animals, the beach but first and foremost her family.

Valerie is survived by one daughter, Anne Daley (Greg) of Miramichi; five sons: Roy Gregan (Nancy) of Quispamsis, Kevin Gregan (Sharon) of Napan, Wayne Gregan (Michele) of Shediac, Tony Gregan (Ellen) of Miramichi and Daryn Gregan (Amy) of Napan; sixteen grandchildren: Caroline, Evan, Victoria, Collin, Rebecca, Ryan, Louise, Dennis, Christian, Jonathan, Jennifer, Kari, Katelyn, Brooklyn, Bradie, and Emerson; eight great-grandchildren: Aubree, Parker, Jacob, Sebastien, Nathaniel, Ryder, Charles, and Penelope; as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, and her husband.

As per Mum's request, there was no visitation.  Mass of Christian Burial was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 11 AM with The Reverend Father Antonio Reyes as Celebrant.  Music for the service included hymns:  "Amazing Grace", and "The Old Rugged Cross", and "In the Garden".  The Eulogy was presented by granddaughter, Caroline Gregan.  Interment will be in the Hardwicke Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
