1934 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts the family of Vesta Christina Gouchie (nee Wilson), loving wife of the late Earl Gouchie, announce her peaceful passing on December 8th, 2025, at Losier Hall Nursing Home, Miramichi, New Brunswick, with her family by her side.
Born in Napan, New Brunswick, on February 10, 1934, the daughter of the late William Wilson and Susan (Dickson) Wilson, Vesta began her journey of life. Memories of her youth and family gatherings always brought a smile.
In the early 50’s while working at a Downtown Chatham clothing store she met Earl, married and for 53 years, enjoyed time spent together with their children, grandchildren, visits and vacations with family and friends, annual home remodeling, gardening and preserving.
Vesta had a 30 year career at the Miramichi Senior Citizen’s Home as an RNA and as an Activity Director with the Adult Day Care Program. For many years following retirement, she was a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program.
Never to waste a moment of her day, when not preparing meals and desserts, she enjoyed shopping for the latest fashions and home décor. Her meticulous nature served her well, knitting beautiful sweaters, crocheting blankets, sewing projects, needlepoint, ceramics, tole painting, all with an eye for detail.
With an unwavering faith in God, she lived her life with great health.
